Lecter and Taleweaver- layout feedback and ideas iLL- layout and graphical feedback and ideas ZiO- for spending hours playing countless matches of this level with BIOS and myself and providing great layout feedback All the outstanding feedback from the entire UCMP team Author Notes by Axeman -------------------- I got the idea for a small portion of this level (the lightning gun area) from a 100x100 picture of a level from an unknown game. I have no idea what game, but it appeared to be 8-bit quality. All I knew going in is that I wanted a clean, simple and futuristic visual design with big, chunky architecture and it seemed I had the first quarter of the layout going from that little picture. I began to expand on that area- which now looks nothing like that little picture- until I came to a point where I had painted myself in a corner with the layout. I solicited help from BIOS after it became clear that the paint wasn't going to dry anytime soon. BIOS did a magnificent job in creating a dynamic layout given the contstraints I originally gave him when I passed him the layout. I'm very proud of how this level turned out from both a layout and visual standpoint. My vision of a clean, simple and futuristic design with chunky architecture is most certainly realized and coupled with BIOS' layout the level is quite fun to play. Author Notes by BIOS --------------------- In giving feedback to new UCMP teammate Axeman's new map, I found myself completely reworking rooms he had already built in order to share different ideas. (sometimes it's just easier to rework BSP rather than make a bunch of screenshots and scribble ideas over them...) Over the course of a few weeks of this, the feedback turned into collaboration and another dual author map was born. Axeman's constraints of the original layout actually provided great inspiration for creating new gameplay areas, and I'm quite proud of the resulting layout -- I think it plays really, really well. Axeman did a wonderful job on the visuals, and remained cool even in the face of my cries of "theme creep!". A hearty congrats to Axeman for putting the finishing polish on this map, I think he did a great job!
